About Xerox
Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:00AM Xerox was founded in 1906 in Rochester as "The Haloid Photographic Company", which originally manufactured photographic paper and equipment. The company subsequently changed its name to "Haloid Xerox" in 1958 and then simply "Xerox" in 1961.
The company over the years has enjoyed a great deal of success, developing innovative new printing machines that have brought convenience, ease and efficiency to many companies across the world. Since their inception, Xerox has a obtained a gleaming reputation for their printers; in 1963 Xerox introduced the first desktop plain-paper copier called the Xerox 813 and has since grown from previous models to create a better improved machine that will cater to every office need.
PARC (Palo Alto Research Center Incorporated) was the research and development centre for Xerox, where all innovations for new printers, copiers and so on where put into practice. Now two decades later it is an independent company, which has numerous corporate and venture clients including Xerox.
